On Nov. 23 after 1:30 a.m., a person armed with a handgun went inside a store near 119 Street and 40 Avenue, police said.

“The suspect pointed the gun at the lone store clerk and walked behind the store’s counter before filling three garbage bags with cigarettes and cash from the register,” police said Friday.

The suspect, a 16- to 20-year-old male, ran away in an unknown direction, police said. He has long, curly black hair and is about five feet nine inches tall with a fit build. He was wearing a white medical mask, black gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt, black track pants with a solid white stripe down both sides, and grey running shoes with white trim.

The weapon was a black or dark grey handgun with paint chips and scratches on its frame, police said.

Officers are asking people in the Aspen Gardens, Royal Gardens and Greenfield neighbourhoods to check their dashcams for “suspicious activity” on Nov. 23 between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.
